Stephen brings over 35 years experience in Retail and Retail Technology where he has held senior management, system design & strategic management positions. Stephen is responsible for the delivery of strategic outcomes for the company’s retail arm, ensuring the creation & implementation of a strategy designed to help grow sales and remove costs for our retail partners through the effective use of purpose designed technologies and services, ensuring the company maintains a leadership position in the retail market.

Michael DeVos: State Manager – NSW & NZ

Michael brings over 25 years of experience in the retail and technology sectors, with a strong background in senior-level sales and strategic management. Since joining Worldsmart in 2004, Michael has played a pivotal role in driving business growth and fostering long-term client relationships, particularly through his previous role as NSW/NZ State Manager. In his current position as National Sales Manager, Michael leads a team of State Managers and works closely with strategic partners to ensure the delivery of exceptional customer service and innovative retail solutions.

Ben Lam Sing
State Manager – QLD

Ben has been living and breathing independent retail since the age of 16; managing his first store at the age of 22. After completing a Bachelor of Science at the University of Queensland, Ben realised his passion for retail and was appointed Area Manager for a multi store owner; overseeing seven stores of various sizes throughout South East Queensland. In 2010, Ben joined the team at Worldsmart, going on to hold various strategic and sales management positions.


Michael Van Lit
Business Development Manager – WA

Michael commenced his Independent retail career in 2002, and has been a key member of the WA team and built great long term relationships with our WA client base since joining Worldsmart in 2009. Michael and his local team of IT professionals service more than 400 retail stores in WA, reaching from Broome in the North to Jerramungup in the South.

Daniel Bedard
Business Development Manager – SA & NT

Daniel brings over 17 years of experience at Worldsmart, having joined the business in 2007 with a solid foundation in IT Support. He progressed into the role of National Support Manager, where he built a reputation for delivering solutions with both technical insight and a customer-first approach. Daniel has developed strong relationships with clients across Australia—from large independent retailers operating in multiple states to remote community stores in the heart of the NT. His leadership style has consistently brought structure, responsiveness, and genuine care to the teams he leads and the customers they support.

Chris Merrett

State Manager – VIC & TAS

Chris began his retail career in 2004 managing operations and IT for a large Multi Store retail group in Victoria. Since joining Worldsmart in 2009, Chris has developed great relationships with major retailers and groups whilst implementing process improvements and efficiencies through technology within their businesses. Chris has extensive project management experience and has been instrumental in major projects including the design and build of Worldsmart Smartsuite of products.

Chris and his team in Melbourne are delivering retail solutions throughout Victoria and Tasmania backed by years of retail experience.
